Illinois Farm Girl

a mother's perspective on farm life & farm kids

Post Double Take: #WordlessWednesday: Sit Still

November 4, 2015

Train tracks run east-west about a mile north of our farm. Some say freight trains pass by every 15 minutes during the day.  I’m inclined to agree.  To get to my in-laws place and the farm shop, we have to cross these tracks.  My brother-in-law has taken to tracking how much time he spends in a day stopped at a crossing waiting for a train.

I’m generally impatient when it comes to getting to where I want to go.  But last night as I sat, tapping my fingers on the steering wheel, annoyed at being stopped again, I saw this.

Coal Train

A good reminder that when God says, “Sit still”, we should sit . . . still.
