Flat Aggie: All About Farm Animals

With each Flat Aggie report, I’ll be putting together a list additional resources, websites, recipes, books, and activities.  Use this with Flat Aggie’s report from Colby Community College to bring Flat Aggie’s Agmazing Adventures to life!

Other Ideas

  • Ask a local veterinarian to speak with your students about their career caring for large and small animals.
  • Talk to your local Extension office and ask about the 4-H Veterinary Science curriculum.

Feed Sacks for Pigs (or other animals)
Make a bag of goodies to represent what animals eat. Use your imagination and substitute snack materials for different feeds stuffs for different animals.

Materials

  • One sandwich size Ziploc® bag Toasted Oat Cereal
  • Blue, white, or silver candy Peanuts
  • Raisins Multicolor Candy
  • Peanut Butter Candy

Instructions

  1. Copy the pig feed sack chart below and insert the paper into your Ziploc® bag.
  2. Add the blue/white/silver candy, toasted oat cereal, peanuts, raisins, multi-colored candy, and peanut butter candy to the bag.
  3. Tell a friend what pigs eat and how the things in your Ziploc® bag represent what pigs eat.
  4. Enjoy your feed sack snack!
