Field Meals: The Real Story

October 29, 2015

Behind every field meal post lies this . . .

20151029_170318. . . the aftermath of hasty meal preparations.  Too often, real life gets lost in newsfeeds laden with pretty pictures of the end results of craft projects, meals, garden plantings.  It is easy to envision the perfectly organized space in which the poster works and the easy pace at which he or she must work.

Of course, reality is not organized or easy going.  After a full day of work, I arrived home with one-hour to prep and deliver meals.  As easy as the menu is, the result was good food, but a big mess.

Meal 11: Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Creamy Grape Salad, Baked Potato Salad, Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Nothing more than pulled pork purchased from local meat market, smothered in bbq sauce layered on a bakery bun.

Creamy Grape Salad (from Taste of Home)

Baked Potato Salad (from Taste of Home)

Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars (from Nestle)
