Veterans Day

Dear Hero,

Thank you so much for protecting our country and our freedom. It probably feels good to be able to come home and enjoy what you have fought for. This is a day to remember the good feelings of family and not the bad feelings of the war because you probably have a lot of memories. Whether you were a mechanic or in the front lines you all made a huge difference to our country and I hope that everybody sees that. Once again thank you for fighting for our freedom and yours.

I live in a small town in northern Illinois. My great-great uncle fought in World War 2. I understand that he does not like to share his stories and that is why I am not asking you about them.

I like to farm with my dad. This is a day that I always think about because the food that we grow might become meals to feed you. I don’t think that anyone can experience the feeling to be in such a tense state and I applaud you for being so brave.

Thank you for your service.

Farm Boy
